Helping International Students Stay Connected

Since 2013, campusSIMS strives to make university experiences in the U.S. the best they can be.

It All Started with a Question

In 2013 we asked, what is the most difficult part about getting settled in the U.S. for international students? We thought maybe it might be getting things for their dorm room or getting set-up on campus, but the thing we heard the most from students was how difficult it was for them to get wireless service.

campusSIMS Was the Answer

After speaking with international students, we found out that the only way they could get wireless service was if they were already here, in the United States. Students went days, sometimes months, without being able to use their phones. Most of the time, they were forced to sign up for expensive long-term contracts–with many requiring a local address, U.S. bank account or SSN, which they just didn’t have.

We’re Here to Help

We’ve partnered with Mint Mobile and 400+ schools/universities to get SIM cards to international students before they arrive in the U.S. This guarantees convenience and peace of mind by providing students with a U.S. number while they’re still in their home country. Once they arrive, their wireless service can start in an instant.

Colin Fahey

Colin co-founded campusSIMS in 2013 when he saw how difficult it was for international students to get mobile phone service when they came to study in the U.S. He wanted to offer a simple, affordable service that allowed students to use their phone as soon as they landed. Colin continues to help students get set up in the U.S.
